Why "SanSei"?
We wanted a name that reflects the partnership between our two companies.
- “San” means three in Japanese, representing Ages Three and Up.
- “Sensei” is a teacher or mentor at a dojo, tying in with Toy Dojo.
By combining the two, we created SanSei — a name that symbolizes our shared vision, creativity, and passion for the collector community.
One of our first joint ventures under SanSei Collective is a special collaboration with Threezero Ltd., a company renowned for its premium-grade collectibles and cutting-edge figure engineering. This project reimagines the original MDLX Rodimus Prime into something truly distinct: the MDLX Lost Light Rodimus Prime.

From the outset, we knew we didn’t want to do a simple repaint. Instead, we pushed for a full aesthetic transformation that would resonate with longtime fans of the character, especially those familiar with his appearance in the IDW comic universe. Working closely with Threezero's talented design team, we meticulously redesigned a number of parts—from the head sculpt to the chest, shoulders, and other key visual elements—to capture the bold, stylized look that defined Rodimus in Transformers: Lost Light.
This isn’t just a recolor — it’s a reinterpretation, carefully engineered to blend the MDLX design language with iconic visual cues from the comics. Every angle of the figure reflects our commitment to delivering something fresh, collectible, and faithful to the source material. The result is a figure that not only feels familiar to fans, but also stands proudly as a limited-edition centerpiece for any Transformers collection.
